Archdale Kendo Kids

In November 2005 Boston Kendo Kyokai moved its practice to the Archdale Community Center in the Roslindale section of Boston, Massachusetts.  The ACC serves a low income, mostly minority community providing a safe environment for the local kids to learn and develop.  We entered into a partnership with the community center to invite any and all of the Archdale kids to join our kendo program.  Initially we had about 20 kids sign-up, but as with most kids not all could maintain the interest or commitment required to stick with kendo.  But some did and those who didn't still learned a lot and had their horizons expanded.
